There is no word yet on when these are due to appear, although the usual gap between releases is three to four months. Also this may not be a definitive list yet. We will bring you more details as we get them.

Also new this month will be US Marines 1900 from Redbox, and Valdemar have told us their Medieval Crossbowmen will be another new showing in May. Apparently these will be plastic figures with some metal accessories. Finally Valdemar's 'Lake Peipus' is also well advanced and should appear in the summer.

May promises bumper harvest

Several companies have confirmed to us that they plan to release new sets next month. Strelets have said that their latest batch is just about to start shipping, and there are two new sets not previously announced. Napoleonic French Uhans in Winter Dress and Romans before Battle will both appear with the latest releases.

Also in May Orion have said they will be releasing their set of Basmachi, while RedBox will be shipping their Korean Guerillas (16th Century) and US Infantry (1900). With new HaT sets also looking like a release soon it seems the recent trickle of new products will become a surge.

Waterloo1815 schedule for 2008

Waterloo1815 have kindly confirmed their plans for 1/72 scale figures over the rest of this year. Their previously announced Napoleonic Prussian Hussars set is in fact two, one 'Brandenburg' and the other 'Death's Head'. These will probably be the next releases, but no dates at the moment.

Also new is a set of Mounted Napoleonic Infantry officers. This is expected to include:

  • 2 French with shako
  • 2 British with shako
  • 1 Scottish
  • 1 Dutch-Belgian
  • 1 French Imperial Guard
  • 1 General Picton
  • 1 William of Orange
  • 1 Duke of Brunswick

Sculpting is already complete on this set, and it is hoped that it will appear before the end of the year.

Previously announced sets of Sioux, US Marines and 7th Cavalry are less far advanced but still in development.

Another new medieval set from Zvevda

While rumours circulate about Zvezda's plans for 2008 one set has been confirmed. 'Russian Guard Cavalry' is the name and from the looks of the artwork it is for the later medieval period although we will know more when we see the figures.
